Black denims, shirts and stilettoes are timeless and are worth investing in.
Wearing black makes a person look slimmer as it conceals the folds and bulges in your body. Different textures and fabrics should be explored in black colour since these give different vibe ranging from "elegant and smart" to "rockstarish and wild". This flexible colour is not tricky to wear as it does not clash and goes well with anything ranging from neons, pastels and bright hues. Black is not present in the colour wheel and was best described as "the colour which is formed by mixing all colours" by Late Shiv Singh, renowned sculptor from Chandigarh, who was always seen wearing black.
The classic little black dress (LBD) is a must-have in every girl's wardrobe. "An LBD is very versatile dress and can be worn on different occasions with different style. Layering it with belts, scarves, jackets and tights according to the occasion works for me as I am able to wear the same dress for a party as well as a formal meeting." said Isha Rathore from Sector 11.
The youngsters' infatuation with black is continuing even as the monsoon showers drench the city. "Black garments can be worn again and again in the rains since don't get dirty easily as compared to any other colour. Black sports shoes and black denims work the best for me," said Pratiksha Sharma, a student of law department, PU.

Add a tinge of colour
Keeping your whole ensemble monochromatic and wearing black from head to toe can make you look one dimensional and less fun. To add that extra spark to your woman in black' ensemble, wear a bright coloured scarf or some colourful and chunky piece of jewellery with your black dress. "I feel that black compliments all skin tones. I and my friends wear black dresses with deep necklines and nice cuts. These dresses make us look classy," a city student said.
